I don't have the energy to catch up on everything, nor do I have the commitment to be a good updater. But I just wanted to put a few pictures on here and write a little bit about each one.
I started this quilt several months ago for grandson Jackson. I started making quilts when his second little sister was born, so he never got a quilt from me when he was a baby. I had to make up for that so this is it. When my boys were little, my mom made I Spy quilts for them, which they wore out. (She also made quilts for my girls, but they were quilts she had started for me and my sister when we were little) The fussy cutting was a bit of a tedious exercise, but it was worth it.
Jim and I took Jackson and Emma out for a morning Grandparents/grandchildren date--hiking, McDs, and the candy store. Jackson requested this photo of him "riding" the dragon. There are footprints in the concrete that show you where to stand to take a picture that will show the picture in just the right perspective. Emma looks like she is walking on a cloud.
This is sweet baby Abigail, newest grandchild! She is a lovey doll and I like to hold her.
First time trying purple broccoli in the garden and it's a success! I'm still getting several handfuls a week--enough for a broccoli side dish weekly. The purple color cooks off, darnit, but it's so pretty when it's fresh! When boiling it, the water turns dark green/blue.
I love to see bee visitors to my flowers!
I took this picture on an Arboretum outing. The kids loved this area (it was shaded on a hot day) and they wandered around. Gigi was with us.
