First full day in the Cascade Lodge

Jim and I, being the oldest couple in attendance at the lodge, got a room. Katie and Christian got their own dorm wing. Mike and Jen had a room, and Jen and Trav had a room. Mike and Jen's girls and their friends and Maya had a dorm wing, and Rozzie and her 2 children got a dorm wing. There was one more dorm wing that Matt and Katheryn would use for the 2 nights they were here.

Our first day at the lodge was a quiet one, no plans, just relaxing and getting settled in.

First up for the day: an early walk. Jackson was awake early and wanted to come with Jim and me on our walk. He was fascinated by the scenery, and the geology, especially the rocks in the "road". Lime Creek road is unpaved and quite rocky. It's not a road for casual driving.
Jackson posed on a rock next to Lime Creek Road.

These aspen trees looked almost electric or photoshopped in real life.

View from the front porch of the lodge

Later in the day we had a visitor to the feeder.

Abbie did lots of exploring the new place for her.

I could watch hummingbirds all day.

Rowan and Caroline became instant friends. This nice big deck provided lots of room to run around.

They picked a lot of leaves.

The view is incredible. I can't help but take many pictures of the same peaks.

The porch swing is so much fun to play with and on.

I think Emma is enjoying vacation at the lodge.

The porch/deck and view.

Christian pays some attention to a dog who thinks he's being neglected.

Rowan, Caroline, and Nolan. Second cousins and now friends.

painting activity!

Jackson tries out pool

This is my very lame picture of the night sky. Christian took much better pictures of the Milky way. Stars are very bright out here in the foresty wilderness.

Thus endeth day 1 of our vacation at Cascade Lodge.
