On the ship!

The shuttle dropped us off right at the port terminal which was like a huge underground parking lot, and the driver helped us get our suitcases, and then we were off to figure out where we were supposed to go.
We found the line to drop off our bags

We had convinced Hayley to let the cruise ship onboard her coffin shaped bag. Originally she was going to drag it around until we got access to our stateroom. I think this was easier.

Wee babies!

After dropping off our suitcases, we got in several different lines for each stage of the boarding process: Scanning our carry-on bags, checking in, getting our medallions (I love the Princess medallion), going through customs, etc. The lines were long but at least they moved. Two ships were boarding at the same time so we had to make sure we were in the right lines, and we didn't have Jim/Dad around to shepherd us. It was really weird being the one "in charge" or "in the know"--Jim is usually in charge of directing our steps and making sure we are in the right place at the right time. I am capable, but he just really enjoys directing our traffic.

Finally we were steps away from officially being on a cruise!

Hayley and Katie are almost on the ship. They are so excited!

We are getting our bearings and being goofy about it. I sort of knew the layout of the ship because it was just a smaller version of the Sky Princess that I had been on a year and a half prior.

FINALLY the announcement was made that we could enter our rooms. They said the luggage had all been delivered, but we did not see ours. It took another hour or so for Katie's bag to arrive, another hour after that for Hayley's and then finally mine showed up.

Hayley gets the upper bunk. At this point, we hadn't found the ladder in the closet yet.

She thought she was going to have to shimmy up this way for the whole week

She finally managed to reach her bed

We found pizza on board!

it's like there's smoke issuing forth from her finger

and again with the posing

I have to dry out my money (and my passport) because I spilled water in my carry on bag while going through customs.

We are underway and overexcited!

I should have kept my mouth shut about finding the ladders. It would have been funny to watch Hayley climb up like that all week.
