New Special Feature, Winner, and Thinking Fast

IT'S OCTOBER!

That means it's time for me to break out the Halloween decorations! And since my blog needs some decoration (no, I am not going to get rid of the white wall), I am starting a special daily feature on my blog, called "Halloween decoration of the day." I will take a picture of one item from my vast arsenal of Halloween decorations and post it on my blog!

Today's bit of Halloween cheer:Eek! blocks. These blocks are a new addition to the Princess family of Halloween decorations. They were made by a friend of mine from church, who gave them to me. The blocks sit on the coat rack shelf to greet all who visit the brick-and-mortar shoebox castle. My friend got the idea from a website called Tip Junkie (a link I gave her). Hayley noticed that the little spider on his silk thread could be considered the exclamation point.

The winner of the Name-Jim's-Navigational-Toy is.....

......drum roll.....

My mother, with her entry "Aunt Roady." Yay Mom! Aunt Laurie came in second with "Gara Pim Snevans"--clever use of initials and silly names that resemble mine and Jim's! Mom, you will receive a fabric scrap from the sewing room floor when you get back from Warmville USA. Thank you everyone who entered! Play again!

Then we have the "thinking fast" portion of today's blogcast. Paul ran in the Victoria Links Invitational (i.e. a meet hosted by Chaska HS) yesterday afternoon. He ran his best time by 20 seconds! He pared his 3 mile running time down to 18 min 30 seconds! He came in 5th out of his team--EVERYONE ran a really fast race. The team captain ran it in less than 17 minutes and he was only in the top third of the finishers. The first place finisher looked like a Kenyan Olympian marathoner, he was so fast. Paul is pleased with his time, though. I did get to see the race, but because I had to schlepp fake child along, I forgot my camera. Fake child was mostly good; she ran around a LOT and wore herself out so that on the ride back, she conked out and slept until her daddy came to pick her up.

Tune in tomorrow when I show off more Halloween treasures!

Aww, man! I missed out on the contest. I so need another dirty scrap to add to my fabric collection. Aunty Roady is a good choice though, don't know if I could've come up with anything better.

My nav is definitely female, or it is a transgender male who can impersonate a female voice very well. I don't know how we came to calling her Betty, but we do.

Love the October theme. I like the choice of Aunt Roady. It was pretty punny!

Aunt Roady got my vote too. I shoulda know'd Kathy would be the cleverest.
